Handwriting
Watch the video below and practise your handwriting. Again, I will be teaching you how to complete joined up writing.
English
You have made an excellent start on your setting descriptions. Today, we are going to work on the next three senses and you are going to finish your description. Remember to use your excellent imagination and be as creative as you can be. Watch the video below and I will share my writing with you.
Here are the skills I want you to use in today’s writing.
- Conjunctions – while, but, so, because, if, after
- Powerful verbs – dashed, zoomed, crept
- Powerful adjectives – glistening, shimmering, revolting
- Exclamation sentence – Using How or What
- Alliteration – shimmering, shiny, silky
Maths
For your Maths Meeting, have a look at the video below and remind yourself of column addition. Remember we use column addition when we are adding numbers.
Now complete the questions below:
34 + 21 = 17 + 51 = 25 + 23 = 42 + 36 = |
Now you are going to be working on finding the total. You are going to be adding amounts. For each question, please make sure you write out the addition sentence. You shouldn’t need to use column addition because I think you will be able to add them mentally. If you can’t then use your hundred square or use column addition to help.
Have a go at questions 1,3 and 4 below
Now have a go at the two questions below if you fancy challenging yourself!
Reading
For your reading activity today, I want you to listen to the book ‘The Worrysaurus’.
After you have listened to the story, choose two reading activities from the sheet below to complete.
PSHE
Excellent Expressions
We are halfway through the week and we are having so much fun. Remember, this week the message is to ‘express yourself’. Therefore, today you are going to take four pictures of yourself and express what makes you happy in life. Once you have taken four pictures, put them together in anyway you want. Either print them, draw them or paint them. Then, use key words and phrases to explain your expressions and what makes you feel excellent.
Look at Mr Farrier’s expressions below.
Well done Year 2!
Well done, you have worked really hard today and completed another day of home learning. Remember to email me your work, I can’t wait to see what you get up to.
