Challenge – TRUE or FALSE?

Look at the question below and determine whether it is true or false. Work it out, answer it, prove it and explain why. Think about when we were multiplying by 10 and dividing by 10, what happens to the numbers as they move columns passed the decimal point?

Reading

Reading – Read the passage of text called ‘Maya’. It includes lots of speech. Once you have read the text, I want you to become a magpie and find interesting and powerful words from the text.

Task – read the text and identify words that will fill the table below. A couple of examples have been found for you.

Art

In art, we are going to do something a little different. Because we drew mountains in geography this week, I thought it would be nice to have a look at the seven wonders of the world. The seven new wonders of the world are extraordinary places in the world where lots of people love to visit. They are historic.

  • Great Wall of China, China.
  • Chichén Itzá, Mexico.
  • Petra, Jordan.
  • Machu Picchu, Peru.
  • Christ the Redeemer, Brazil.
  • Colosseum, Italy.
  • Taj Mahal, India.

Choose one of the wonders of the world and find a video of how to draw it on YouTube. Have a go at drawing one of the wonders and enjoy your art lesson. Try to press the pencil on lightly and use the side of the pencil for a shading effect.

Here is a video of Christ the Redeemer, Brazil. I would like to see a range of drawings from the whole class.

Story

Relax, enjoy a story to yourself and reflect on your day.

I am proud of your efforts.

Well done,

Mr Farrier.
