Acrostic poem – pick a spelling from your list and create an acrostic poem about winter. Challenge – how many spellings can you get into your poem? I have completed one myself. Can you spot how many spellings I have used?

SPAG (15 minutes): Linking paragraphs
Linking paragraphs is an important tool to use when you are story writing. You can use adverbs and other adverbial phrases to link paragraphs smoothly. You are going to look at time connectives, temporal connectives and prepositional phrases and link them correctly.

Today you are going to use your plan from yesterday to help you write a letter. Remember, your letter needs to explain what happened in 2020 and the impact it had on you.

Paper Helicopter Investigation
Today you are going to look at the effects of air resistance and gravity. You are going to make a paper helicopter. A helicopter hovers in the air as it propellers rotate. Use the template below and follow the instructions to create a paper helicopter that spins as it slowly falls to the ground.
Time how long your helicopter takes to fall to the ground. Can you make one that falls more slowly? Think about forces of gravity and air resistance which we have looked at the last two weeks and how you can use them to make the helicopter fall slower.
When you have completed the helicopter, draw a picture of it and explain how you have made it fall slower.
