Good morning, Year 3. Well done for continuing to work so hard at home. If you haven’t sent us work so far this week, please make sure you do today. It is important that you continue to follow the work at home so that you are ready for your return to school on the 8th March. We are really looking forward to having everyone at school again.
This week, please make sure that you continue to use Spelling Shed and TTRS in addition to your home learning.
Zoom calls will continue at the usual times and the links can be found on the year 3 home learning page.

Today is our reading comprehension session. Please read the text below carefully and answer the questions. Remember you might need to read the text several times to answer the questions. I have included the extension questions if you would like a challenge.
Today we will be starting our new PHSE topic of celebrating difference.
Task 1
I would like you to find out what the word community means and write a sentence to tell me.
Task 2
Write a list of different groups/communities that people might be part of. I have started one for you, which you can copy and complete, or you can just do one of your own. Once you have completed your list, I would like you to highlight the communities/groups that you are part of.
Groups/Communities
School
Cubs
Football team
Church
Task 3
I would like you to write a sentence to tell me what you think is good about being part of a community.
Task 1
Today for PE I would like you to try to invent your own game. It could be a throwing game, a running game or crawling game. You could use a game that you already play and change parts of it so that it is your own.
Task 2
Once you have created and played your game I would like you to answer these questions.
- How did playing your game make you feel?
- What was your favourite part of your game?
- Would you change anything about your game?
Well done year 3, you have completed today’s home learning. Relax and enjoy a story.
Remember to send any completed work to year3@handale.rac.sch.uk
